XMI - XML Metadata Interchange
XMI is a standard file format for the transfer of modelling information between
modelling tools - as specified by the Object Management Group.
There are various releases of the specification and they are not consistently interpreted by the suppliers of
the various modelling tools that are available - making the task of importing XMI data rather complicated... Unfortunately...
ViziGen's developers have tacked this problem by making use of Microsoft's "provider"
mechanism. This means that ViziGen's import capability can be easily extended to
cater for new XMI variants simply by loading a new DLL into ViziGen's bin folder
and making a simple change to its configuration file.
If you are having difficulty importing XMI data into ViziGen please first check
the ViziGen web site (http://www.vizigen.co.uk) for the latest
Import Tools. If
you are still having trouble importing please get in touch with support@vizigen.co.uk
and they will try to provide you with a solution - it's in our interests to provide
this help as it broadens ViziGen's usefulness.
